I used to use vanilla beans exclusively. I found this through a cooking school class. It is cheaper and easier than harvesting the seeds from vanilla beans, BUT you still get seeds in final product, and the taste is excellent--a triple win. We now use it almost exclusively when vanilla is needed or wanted. We've also begun spoiling ourselves by adding a bit to our coffee for vanilla latte.
